Oasaana Njayar- Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday is observed with utmost reverence by the Christians of Kerala. In Kerala, Palm Sunday is called Hosanna Njayar. Holding Kuruthola or tender leaves of coconut palm they attend special services in the Church. Hence the festival is also called Kuruthola Perunnal (feast).
In several churches ceremonial processions are taken out. Holding the symbolic tender palm leaf, thousands of believers attend the processions.
