Maramon Convention
Maramon Convention is the largest annual Christian convention in Asia. It is held in Pathanamthitta district and is conducted by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association (META), the missionary wing of the Mar Thoma church. The convention is held on the sandbanks of river Pamba near Kozhencherry.
Usually held in the month of February, the convention is attended by thousands from India and abroad. The week-long gathering is a great occasion for listening to evangelists and eminent exponents of the Bible from around the world. Missionaries of the Evangelistic Association also come and share their experiences with the believers.
The convention was first held in the year 1896 for a period of eight days. The sandbanks of river Pamba literally turn into an ocean of humanity with the believers from different churches thronging here to take part in this ecclesiastical summit.
