Religious hymns at Kadavallur Anyonyam
The Rigveda is an ancient Indian sacred collection of Vedic Sanskrit hymns. Kadavallur Anyonyam in Kerala, South India is an examination held in the Kadavallur temple to test the Vedic knowledge of the members of the Namboothiri community of Kerala. It is in fact the final test, which a Brahmin boy has to take, to be called a Vedic scholar.
Religious hymns are chanted by the students during the Kadavallur Anyonyam event. The Kadavalloor Anyonyam is conducted every year during the first fortnight of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam (mid-November)
