Vattappattu - the male version of Oppana
Vattappattu, the male version of Oppana, originated as an entertainment art form is performed on the day before the weddings in Malabar region, Kerala. This Muslim art form of Malabar is performed by groups from the groom’s side. The songs of Vattappattu are usually a blend of five languages – Arabic, Malayalam, Tamil, Persian, and Urdu.
