Shown here is an excerpt from Caralman Charitram – the story of Emperor Charlemagne - a popular Chavittunatakam play. Chavittunatakam or Chavittu Natakam is the colourful theatre dance form originated among the Latin Catholics in the early phase of Portuguese colonization in Kerala. Noted for its rhythmic high-stepping of artistes, performing here are the members of Yuvajana Chavittu Nataka Kala Samithi based at Gothuruthu near Chennamangalam in the Ernakulam district.
