Watchtowers at Hampi in Bellari district, Karnataka
It is the watchtowers built into the enclosure wall on each side survey approaches to the royal complex. These ruins show the strong security system of Vijayanagara dynasty. These watchtowers also appear to have played an important part in supplying water to this ancient city. Hampi was once the seat of the Vijayanagara Kingdom. It is situated on the southern banks of Tungabhadra River at Hospet village in Bellari district, Karnataka state, India.
