Temple dedicated to Tara, Golden temple, Coorg
Coorg, a perfect holiday spot in Karnataka state, has one of the largest Buddhist settlements in India. Namdroling Nyingmapa Tibetan Monastery and the Golden Temple, built in 1963 are home to hundreds of lamas, monks and nuns and is the largest Nyingmapa, a lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, teaching center in the world.
Located about 30 km away from Madikeri, at Bylakuppe near Kushalnagar in Coorg district, is apparently the second largest Tibetan settlements in India.
