St. Philomena’s Church in Mysore, Karnataka
St. Philomena’s church, one of the oldest churches in India is located to the north of the city of Mysore, Karnataka. The church was consecrated by his Excellency The Most Reverend James B. Knox on 28th October 1959.
Also known as St. Joseph’s Church, this huge church is built in the neo-gothic style of architecture. The two towers seen on both the sides are of about 175m high. The interior of the church is very alluring and is peaceful.
The marble altar on which St. Philomena is placed inside the church is elegant. Devotees and tourists from around the country visit this church to seek the blessings of St. Philomena.
