Murudeshwar Temple: The scenic holy place
Murudeshwar, famous for its Shiva temple and its tranquil beach, is located on the Mangalore-Karwar highway in Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka state, India. The Murudeshwar temple complex is noted for the tallest idol of Lord Shiva in the world, which is 123 feet high. The place is situated between the picturesque Western Ghats and the shimmering blue Arabian Sea.
The temple was built with Chalukya and Kadamba sculptures in the dravidian style of architecture. The temple is located on a hillock which offers a magnificent view of the sea.
