Malgudi days house

For those who cherish the captivating stories of Malgudi Days, an Indian television series based on the works of R.K. Narayan, a visit to this traditional house near Agumbe in Shimoga district, Karnataka, will be a nostalgic journey back to the world of those spellbinding narratives. Though you won’t be able to meet the Swami and Friends or The Vendor of Sweets, you will be welcomed by a lovely smile of Kasthuri Akka, the lovable old land lady of this house. The entire television series was shot in Agumbe especially in the house of Kasthuri Akka. The house is known as Dodda Mane, meaning big house in Kannada, and is at a walkable distance from Agumbe bus stand.
