Madikeri Fort
Featured in this video is the famous Madikeri Fort located in Coorg or Kodagu in the state of Karnataka, India. Built as a mud fort by Mudduraja in the last quarter of the 17th century, the Madikeri Fort underwent renovations so many times. Tipu Sultan rebuilt the fort in granite and named it as Jaffarabad.
Erected later of brick and mortar, the Madikeri Fort had witnessed several ferocious battles. In 1790, Doddavira Rajendra took control of the fort and the palace was renovated by Lingarajendra Wodeyar II in 1812-1814. The British also added to the fort in 1834.
