Boating at Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary

Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary in Mysore, Karnataka is situated on the banks of Kaveri River. Boating facility is arranged by the authorities to enjoy the greenery and watching the birds. This bird sanctuary is a home to lot of migrating birds.

Ranganathittu attained the status of a bird sanctuary in 1940, courtesy of the visions of India’s famous ornithologist Dr. Salim Ali who, during his survey of the birds of Mysore, advocated for the establishment of such a sanctuary.
