Base of King's Palace at Hampi
Base of King’s Palace is the remains of a huge building complex with a fortified campus. The figures of horses, elephants and of dancers are etched on the floors. This indicates that the complex could be en enclosure to what the parade of royal pomps or military might. There are palace bases, underground temple and aquatic structures showing that it could be the seat of an ancient royalty. From a distance there is the Mahanavami dibba, the tallest structure in this area.
Hampi (the capital site of Vijayanagara dynasty) is situated on the southern bank of Tungabhadra River at Hospet village in Belleri (Bellary) district, Karnataka state, India. The Hampi ruins are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
