Purandaradasa Mandap or Pavilion at Tungabhadra, Hampi
It is the Purandaradasa Pavilion or Mandap at Hampi, located on the south bank of the river Tungabhadra in Karnataka state, India. The pavilion had been built during the reign of king Krishna Deva Raya, the greatest of the rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire.
In this pavilion one can see the image of Purandaradasa, the beloved Court-Poet of the King Krishna Deva Raya. Purandaradasa was one of the foremost Haridasas, a saint-composer and a mystic. He was credited with having consolidated and structured the teaching of Carnatic music.
