The Hazara Rama temple, Hampi
It is the Hazara Rama Temple, the temple dedicated to Lord Rama at Hampi. The temple panels are embellished with episodes from Ramayana, Indian epic. The walls of the enclosure are richly carved with friezes depicting processions of elephants, horses, dancing girls and soldiers attired in splendid armour.
Hampi, a World Heritage Site and once the seat of the powerful Vijayanagara Empire in South India, is located on the banks of River Tungabhadra in Karnataka state.
