Tungabhadra and the Hampi Ruins
It is the River Tungabhadra and on the bank of this beautiful river lays the historic ruins of Vijayanagara dynasty, Hampi. Hampi was once the seat of this great Empire of South India. In this landscape one can find exquisite monuments, temples, stone architecture, pavilions and also the ruins of various other architectures.
This medieval site is divided into three: the sacred centre- consists of the important temples, the royal enclosure - consists of civic and secular buildings and the suburban centres.
