Gateways of Vijaya Vittala temple
The Vijaya Vittala temple complex at Hampi has three gopuras or gateways located to the east, south and north. The main one is the Krishnadeva Raya at south and the other two in the name of his two wives Chinna devi and Tirumala Devi to the east and the north respectively. The Vitthala complex has been built during the reign of King Krishnadeva Raya.
Hampi, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites situated on the southern bank of Tungabhadra River at Hospet village in Belleri district, Karnataka state, India. This historic site was once the seat of the Hindu Kingdom Vijayanagara.
