Yak ride at Pangong Tso Lake, Ladakh
Pangong Lake is situated at an altitude of 4,350 m above sea level in the northeast of Leh which is in the eastern part of the Jammu and Kashmir state in India. Tourists can see lush green pastureland with yaks and mountain cows grazing in them. They can have a ride on Yaks, the long-haired bovines found in most parts of the Himalayas and in the Tibetan plateau.
Travel tips:
Nights are very cold at the lake and also carry warm clothes when you are at Pangong Tso Lake. The best time to travel the lake is during summer season, ie from June to September.
Getting there:
Pangong Tso can be reached in a 5 hour drive through the mountain road of Himalayas from Leh.
