Leh-Manali Highway

Open for only four and a half months in a year, the highway connecting Leh in Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir and Manali in Himachal Pradesh, two states of India, was designed, built and maintained completely by the Border Roads Organization (BRO).

Known as the Leh-Manali highway, it is capable of supporting the heaviest of army vehicles. The travel through this highway offers some delighting experience as you can cross small streams of ice-cold water from snow-capped mountains and glacial melts. Needless to say, you need to be a good driver, the only important point to be noted.
