Theyyam Part 2
Theyyam is one of the excellent dance forms which originated in North Kerala. It is performed as a temple ritual especially in Malabar in the districts of Kannur and Kasaragod. The word Theyyam is believed to have been evolved from the word Daivam, which means God in Malayalam language.
Since this dance form is a temple ritual, it has its own historical significance. This video features various forms of Theyyam performed as the part of different temple rituals. The make-up for the Theyyam is magnificent and grabs the rapt attention of tourists as well as the locals.
