Mizhavu Thayambaka Performance Part 3
This Video presents the Mizhavu Thayambaka, a massed performance of percussion instruments especially accomplished during Kutiyattam, one of the oldest classical dance forms which originated in Kerala.
The performance begins with ‘Mizhavu Ochapeduthal’, which literally means the sounding of Mizhavu, to remove the evil presence around the Koothambalam (the theatre). Mizhavu is also played in the Thayambaka style and in this video you can see a group of artistes creating harmonious blend of rhythm by Mizhavu Thayambaka.
