Balivadham Part 2- Kutiyattam

This video presents Balivadham, a citation of Kutiyattam performance and a significant part in the epic Ramayana. Kutiyattam being an old Sanskrit theatre in Kerala has a vital role in the cultural history of the state.

Bali, the ruler of Kishkinta has a misunderstanding with his sibling Sugriva and as a result Sugriva’s wife is forced to become Bali’s consort. So Sugriva seeks help from Lord Rama and in turn offers his army’s help to kill the demon king Ravana. Eventually Lord Rama kills Bali.
