Ayyappan Theeyattu Part 4

This video features the end part of Ayyappan Theeyattu, an old temple ritual performed in the temples dedicated to Sasthavu (the primeval concept of Lord Ayyappan) mostly in northern parts of Kerala.

In this video you can see the play which depicts a contended Lord Ayyappan enacted by the artist, brandishing a sword and dancing in ecstasy around the Kalam.

He then begins to rub off the drawings on the ground and later this coloured powder is given to the devotees as Prasadam (the blessed offerings of the lord).
