The Ridge road in Shimla
The Ridge road, located in the heart of Shimla, is a large open space which gives an excellent view of the mountain ranges. From the Ridge one can access the Mall- the shopping centre and the Scandal Point in the west. The east side of the road leads to Lakkar Bazaar- a wooden handicraft market and the road houses a large water reservoir, the main supply of water in Shimla town.
The Ridge road serves as the official place for the summer festival and also other government and local celebrations. The Chirst church and the State Library here is famous for its neo-gothic and tudorbethan architecture. Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh, the Himalayan state in India.
