Jakhoo Temple at Jakhoo hills in Shimla
Jakhoo Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to the Monkey God Hanuman and is situated in Jakhoo hill, the highest peak, in the Ridge at Shimla. Legend says that Lord Hanuman stopped here while he was in search for the sanjivini herb to cure Lakshman who was wounded in the epic battle in Ramayana. The temple premises are home to a large number of monkeys.
Jakhoo hill offers a panoramic view of the Shivalik Ranges and the town of Sanjauli in the district. Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh state in India and also a beautiful hill station of the country.
