Himalayan Marmots - the mountain squirrel
Found in the Himalayan regions, the Himalayan Marmot is a large ground squirrel with about the size of a large housecat. The Himalayan marmot is one of the highest altitude-dwelling mammals in the world. The animal has got a dark chocolate-brown coat with contrasting yellow patches on its face and chest. Marmots live in small groups called colonies, consisting of an adult male, a couple of adult females, some sub-adults ("teenagers"), and pups.
