Ayurveda: the mantra of rejuvenation
A rejuvenation process to maintain good health, Ayurveda is an ancient holistic system of medicine originated in India. It is not a treatment method, but a way of life with no side effects. It is a science that provides you the knowledge about life. Featured in this video is three different methods used in Ayurveda — Njavarakizhi, Snehadhara and Snana.
Njavarakizhi, a traditional treatment form is a procedure in which the whole body or any specific part of the body is applied with medicinal drug known as Njavara (special variety of rice that grows in 60 days). Snehadhara is a treatment by pouring medicated oil all over the body with simultaneous massage.
Snana or herbal bath is not a treatment but is viewed in Ayurveda as a daily activity, after an oil massage called Abhyanga. Oil should be applied all over the body and sensitive parts like face, ears and soles of feet.
