Surajkund Crafts Fair, a cultural extravagance of India
Surajkund Crafts Fair (Mela), an initiative by Haryana Tourism to promote the traditional art and architecture of India. It is an annual festival held every year in the month of February at Surajkund, which is located to the Delhi- Haryana border in Haryana state.
The sprawling venue for the fair is shaped in the form of a typical Indian village. The Mela is an opportunity to see and buy the rare crafts from all over India. The fair also encourages the rhythm of Indian folk dances and music. The performances are carried out in the open air theatre called Natyashala.
