Feroz Shah Palace, Hisar
Built by Feroz Shah Tughlaq, a legendry Indian monarch, the Feroz Shah Palace or Hissar-e-Firoza (fort of Feroz) is a grand structure with a basement and a mosque which is built of rubble stonework covered with thick lime plaster. The palace complex houses an open courtyard on the side of which is placed two or three storied structures.
The huge western wall of the palace has a passage with steps which lead to the terrace meant for guarding the palace while the eastern side of the palace contains some structures in red sandstone, which are of later origin like the lotus-tank situated on the terrace.
Located in the city of Hisar, Haryana state of India, this fort is a popular tourist destination today.
