Statue of Shri Ranjitsinhji Bahadur, Jamnagar
Featured in this video is the statue of Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji, the maharaj or the ruler of Nawanagar, the old name of Jamnagar in the State of Gujarat, India. He was the third son of Maharaj Sri Jawansinhji Jivansinhji (10 November 1875-12 January 1942). Before succeeding his uncle, who had adopted him as his heir in 1933, Digvijaysinhji enjoyed a military career.
Sir Digvijaysinhji joined the Chamber of Princes and led it as its president from 1937 to 1944. He served as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (1937-1938). He was also a member of several prominent sporting clubs.
