Saifee Villa Museum in Dandi, Gujarat
This video features Saifee Villa Gandhi Memorial Museum in Dandi, Gujarat state of India. It is a place of importance where on April 5th 1930 Mahatma Gandhi stayed at night prior to the historical event of Salt Satyagraha against the Salt law implemented by the British government during the colonial rule. This building belonged to His Holiness Syedna Taher Saifuddin Shaheb, 51st religious head of Dawoodi Bohra Community.
Shaheb requested Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India to dedicate this building to the country and to preserve it as a national heritage as it has historical significance. The museum has various rare pictures and various personal effects of Mahatma Gandhi.
