Nava Naka fort remains, Rajkot
Founded by Thakore Sahib Vibhoji, Rajkot is the fourth largest city in the State of Gujarat in India. Rajkot, located on the banks of Aji river has much historical significance and has played a major role in the Indian independence movement.
The city was attacked by the Nawab ruler Mausum Khan in 1720 and renamed it as Mausamabad. Mausum Khan built many fortresses in Rajkot to protect it from the attack of other rulers. Nava Naka is one such fort, which is now in a ruined state. The Nava Naka road is famous as a shopping hub.
