Kalika Mata Temple in Pavagadh Hill, Champaner
Featured in this video is the Kalika Mata Temple, dedicated to Mother Kali, situated atop the Pavagadh hill near Champaner in the State of Gujarat in India. It is one of the oldest shrines in Gujarat with historical significance and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Since the shrine is located on a hillock, people have to walk around 5 km through the jungle and also have to climb numerous steps to reach the temple.
The idol of Kalika Mata, the major deity of this temple in the inner sanctum is only the head or the mukhwato, which is painted in red. One can enjoy the breathtaking view of the surroundings from this temple.
