Drum Making, Porbandar

Porbandar, a coastal city in the State of Gujarat in India is well known as the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of India. It is a small but busy town, which is bordered by a beach. During the reign of the Mughals, Porbandar was well known for its trading activities as it had a thriving port.

The video features a roadside shop in Porbandar where drums are kept for sale. Locally known as Nogara, these percussion instruments are very popular, especially during festival occasions.
