Champaner Jama Masjid near Vadodara
Champaner, a World Heritage Site is a historical city located in the Panchmahal district of the State of Gujarat in India. Situated around 47 km from Vadodara the place is famous for an ancient fort situated at the foothills of Pavagadh.
Shown in this video is a Jama Masjid built by Mahmud Begada, the then Sultan of Gujarat. The masjid is an impressive structure and is a fine example of the architectural splendour of that time. It has a central dome, two minarets of 30 m in height, 172 pillars and seven mihrabs, along with carved entrance gates.
