Ruins of St. Augustine's Tower, Goa
Featured in this video are the ruins of St. Augustine's Church, once the biggest church in Goa, a state in India. The prominent ruin seen in this location is the 46 m high tower. The belfry was built of laterite and formed the main part of the facade of the St. Augustine's Church.
During the religious suppression in 1835, the Augustinians abandoned the church and the nearby convent. As a result of this negligence the facade and half of the tower collapsed in 1938.
