Research at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology

The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), located in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala is a foremost institute for disease biology. Began in 1990, RGCB over the past several years has set a high standard of research and development in selected areas of Medical and Plant Biotechnology. The institute carries various research programmes on different aspect of diseases like, Neuro Science, Chemical Biology, Drug delivery System, Molecular Ecology, Plant biotechnology, Anti-cancer compound from biodiversity and so on.

The institute has made impressive advances in areas of disease biology and RGCB has one of the best rated Phd programmes. In the year 2014, RGCB has started an integrated master’s Phd programme in Human Nutrition and Diseases.
