South Block, New Delhi
This video features the South Block of the Central Secretariat complex in New Delhi, the capital city of India. The Central Secretariat comprises a set of two office blocks situated on opposite sides of the Rajpath in the city.
The two blocks are the North Block and the South Block where the most important offices of the Indian Government function. The South Block that you see in the video houses the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs.
This building is an eminent structure and was designed by Herbert Baker, the famous British architect. The building style is a blend of Mughal and Rajputana schools of architecture.
This building complex is a prominent landmark in the capital city and the North and South Blocks flank the Rashtrapathi Bhavan (the President’s official residence)on Raisina Hill in New Delhi.
