Rashtrapathi Bhavan, the official residence of President of India
Rashtrapathi Bhavan, originally known as Viceroy’s House is now the official residence of the President of India. It is situated at the west end of Rajpath in New Delhi, India.
Rashtrapathi Bhavan is a magnificent classical structure designed by Sir Edward Lutyens. This building has massive columns, porticos and balconies, all incorporated with typical Indian motifs such as elephants, Buddhist railings, chhatris and jalis.
In front of Rashtrapathi Bhavan one can see the model of a cannon which reminds one of the nation’s struggle for independence. The Mughal Gardens laid out to the west add charm and grace to this structure of power.
