Qila Rai Pithora or Lal Kot, New Delhi
Qila Rai Pithora or Lal Kot, one of the historical sites in New Delhi, the capital city of India, was established by the Chauhan Rajputs. It was the first city in Delhi dating to 10th century and is located near Qutab Complex.
The oldest incarnations of the city, Qila Rai Pithora in Delhi was the first seat of urban settlements in Delhi region. Qila Rai Pithora has great historical significance as it was the heart of commercial as well as political activities during that period.
