Qila Kuhna Masjid inside Purana Qila
Inside Purana Qila (Old Fort), is the Qila Kuhna Masjid considered as one of the finest examples of mughal architectural style. Built by Sher Shah in 1541, it seems that there was an attempt to build the whole Masjid (Mosque) in Marble. But the paucity of marble forced the builders to use red sandstone also. The inner west wall of the Masjid has five arched openings and which are richly decorated in white and black marbles.
