Cotton textiles from the land of Jewel, Manipur
Cotton weaving in Manipur, the Land of Jewels, is noted for its variety of garments like sarees, chadors, shawls and other traditional costumes with numerous designs.
The main designs woven in these textiles are likli (the bottle design), lashing phee (a joined material that serves as a warm cover in winter) and morang phee (a saree with its temple border and connected with the tragic love tale of Khamba -Thoibi).
