Shown here is an excerpt from Rama Vaidyanathan’s Bharatanatyam on Navarasa Mohana, the nine emotions towards Lord Krishna, performed at the inauguration of SPIC MACAY Thiruvananthapuram Chapter held at Senate Hall, University of Kerala, Palayam Campus in Kerala, India. In Navarasa Mohana, the dancer portrays the nine emotions from the perspectives of different people towards Lord Krishna on his arrival in Madhura to kill Kamsa.
SPIC MACAY - Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth - is a voluntary youth movement that works for the promotion of Indian classical music, Indian classical dance and other aspects of Indian culture. The movement with chapters in more than 300 towns and cities all over the world was established by Dr. Kiran Seth in 1977 at IIT Delhi.
