Terracotta artifacts from Delhi
Imagination is the finest thing that mankind ever had had. These splendid terracotta handicrafts from New Delhi are specimens to this fact. One cannot but admire the way how the locally available clay is transformed into such beautiful artifacts.
In villages around New Delhi, there are about 50 centers where plain and painted earthenware is produced. However, there are only less than one dozen artists who specialize in the making of terracotta artifacts.
The venue is the exhibition ground of Surajkund Crafts Mela held in Haryana. An initiative of Haryana Tourism, the fair aims at patronizing Indian handicraft as well as handloom tradition.
