It is the Paithani saree from the state of Maharashtra, which has played a significant role in weaving together the cultural fabric of Maharashtra. It’s beautifully crafted, with an exquisite gold thread (zari) border.
One of the most exquisite techniques of tapestry weave, combining gold and silk for saree pallu (cross border of saree) is known as Paithani. Paithani saree is named after the Paithan village where it survived.
