The beauty of Paddy craft
It is the stall which exhibits and sells the ornaments made of paddy from West Bengal. The venue is the grand crafts fair held at Surajkund in Haryana, India.
The crafts made with paddy are small figures, garlands, fans and baskets made from chains of unhusked rice. Each piece of rice is carefully knotted to the next with coloured thread to make necklaces and ear rings.
Surajkund Crafts Mela is a mega event which exhibits India’s rich handicraft and handloom tradition. The Fair also celebrates the rhythms of folk art performance on the open-air-theatre named Natyashala.
