Metalwares from Nepal

It is the charming beauty of metalware from Nepal in the crafts fair held at Surajkund in Haryana. It is a festival which showcases the traditional art and crafts from all over the country.

Nepali artisans have been casting bronze, brass and copper statues and paintings of Buddhist and Hindu deities from ancient times. Most of the statues are cast in the Tibetan style.

The images of Buddha as well as Hindu and indigenous deities are carved. Each of the statues is characterized by certain posture, weapon or other identifying feature.
