Gemstone paintings from Rajasthan

Gemstone painting is a craft unique to Rajasthan, India. In this craft, crushed gems are stuck on classical Rajasthani miniature paintings as well as on paintings of gods and goddesses to create beautiful images. Crushed gem paintings is a relatively new craft and is used for the lids of jewellery boxes, trays etc.

The annual Surajkund Crafts Fair, an initiative by Haryana Tourism, presents a cross section of the handloom and handicraft products from all over the country. The fair also offers a venue for the attractive folk art forms of India.
