Seema - 1955

Directed by Amiya Chakrabarty, the 1955 released Seema is noted for the brilliant performance of its lead actors – Nutan and Balraj Sahni. The director was successful in developing a narrative which is both socially relevant and entertaining.

The music composed by Shankar-Jaikishan also played a crucial role in the success of this film. The song “Tu Pyaar ka Sagar Hai” sung by Manna Dey was a classic hit of that time. Some of the other melodious songs from this film are “Suno Chhoti si Gudiya ki Lambi Kahani,” “Baat Baat Par Roothon Na” and “ Kahan Ja Raha, Man Mohana Bade Jhoothe.”
