Monihara, one of the three stories of the film Teen Kanya or Three Daughters
Teen Kanya, translated to mean Three Daughters, and known internationally as Two Daughters, was made in 1961, and its primary language is Bengali, West Bengal, India. This release into the India cinema scene was directed by Satyajit Ray. It was adapted from the Indian author Rabindranath Tagore. Monihara is one of the three stories in this film.
Monihara or The Lost Jewels is about a schoolteacher who discovers a strange cloaked man near an empty mansion that was once inhabited by a man by the name of Phanibhusan and his spouse Manimalika.
Monihara features Gobinda Chakravarti as the schoolteacher, Kali Banerjee as Phanibhusan and Kanika Majumdar as Manimalika.
This movie was produced by Satyajit Ray Productions, and was directed by Satyajit Ray with a screenplay inspired by three short stories written by Rabindranath Tagore. Editing was provided by Dulal Dutta, cinematography by Soumendu Roy, Art Direction by Bansi Chandragupta and sound by Durgadas Mitra. The films original soundtrack was composed by Satyajit Ray.
